The Informational Meetings are conducted by Dr. Bruce Applebaum on a monthly basis. The public is welcome to attend but we ask that you call in advance to register for this informational meeting. Contact our office at 915-351-6272. www.southwestsurgeons.com. During these meetings, the surgeons are introduced. We then provide a power point presentation of the problem of morbid obesity, its consequences, patient selection for surgery, types of operations, risks, benefits and an open forum for discussion of patient's questions.
SCHEDULED MEETINGS ARE AS FOLLOWS: Southwest Surgeons for Obesity plays an important role in supporting our patient's progress and success through pre- and post-operative education programs. We have partnered with the Providence Regional Bariatric Center to provide patients with a wide range of education and support programs run by professional medical staff experienced in weight loss surgery, including registered nurses, nutritionists, psychologists and exercise physiologists. The Support Group Meetings are held monthly. Topics discussed include nutritional issues, psychological problems, meeting exercise needs, plastic/reconstructive surgery options, open forum discussions, etc. The next scheduled support group meetings are as follows: SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS FOR DECEMBER 2009 ARE AS FOLLOWS:
